What time is it? It’s Sims 2 expansion time. After all, it’s been about six months and Maxis/EA keeps riding that franchise by expanding the possibilities of the world’s (arguably) biggest single-player gaming franchise.
The last outing, back in September 2007, addressed holiday time for the Sims with the Bon Voyage expansion. Now it is time to address what the sims do with spare time in the aptly named FreeTime expansion.

Ok when I accidentally stumbled onto EA’s website this morning, (totally by accident mind you, redirected from another site I was on) I noticed the latest expansion pack to one of our favourite PC games, The Sims 2 FreeTime. Now what got me super excited is that yesterday, while playing The Sims 2: Bon Voyage , for almost a full weekend too, I turned to my beloved better half and said that I have the perfect idea for a new expansion.

Seven must be the lucky number in the Sims universe. Makin' Magic was the seventh and final expansion of the original core game, and it completely overhauled the conventions of the game to make playing it a definitively different experience (if you chose to take advantage of the new features). Although Free Time, the seventh expansion for The Sims 2, doesn't quite go that far, there are new features that mess with the rules of the game, making the experience feel much fresher
